You may have heard *talking* signals that say things like:

“Walk sign is on to cross Rainbow at Sahara.”

Just a few blocks to the west of Rainbow (on Sahara at Tenaya), there's a signal that's putting out an odd sound. [check the video connected to this story to hear it]

When there's traffic there, you can barely hear the singing - or whatever it is.

But when there's no traffic - you can't miss it.

Cars might not notice, but it's there for sure.

I've sent the clip to the Regional Transportation Commission's traffic camera and traffic signal folks, and so far, they're baffled.

It's not a done deal, but the red line on a map in the video with this story shows that a lot of it is already in place.

Now “Get Outdoors Nevada” wants to hear from you about the blue line - possible ways to close the loop. They're looking at three specific areas in the far south and southwest.

“So many people here say 'I 95' when referring to what's actually US95. I've even seen it in print and heard it on local radio and tv. Please educate viewers about the differences between interstates and us highways.”

With a length of 1,924 miles I-95 is the longest north-south interstate, passing through 15 states on the east coast from Maine to Florida.

US 95 runs for 1,561 miles in the western U-S from the Idaho border with Canada to the Arizona border with Mexico.

Interstate freeway signs are red and blue. U-S highway signs are black & white. Interstates have controlled access, medians between lanes of oncoming traffic, and no traffic lights.

Because of a change approved earlier this year by state lawmakers, the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles is offering drivers the option of having a blue medical cross added to the front of their license.

They call it the “Star Of Life” which could let people know you have any number of conditions from depression to epilepsy to food allergies and a whole bunch more.

If you're updating a current license there's a $3.25 processing fee.

If you're getting a new license the cost doesn't change from what you'd already pay.

You need to know that just asking for the sticker isn't enough. Your doctor has to fill out a 2-page form.

By the way, the DMV stresses that this is completely voluntary. If you don't want a sticker, you sure don't have to have one.

Here's an update on the huge project where US95 meets the 215 northern beltway, as we go . . . "Centennial Bowling!"

When the Nevada Dept of Transportation held a ribbon cutting with Governor Joe Lombardo and City, County and other state leaders, and they put out cool time lapse videos of the work that's gone on there the last few years, you could be forgiven for thinking, “Wow! They're all done!”

In a sign that “substantial completion” means there's still going to be work going on there, NDOT wants you to know about two overnight Centennial Bowl ramp closures tonight.

From 8 tonight and scheduled to run until 5 tomorrow morning, you won't be able to go from the eastbound 215 to the south 95.

You also won't be able to get on the eastbound 215 from Sky Pointe.

There will be posted detours.
